What We Do Not Take On

We fix garage doors - springs, openers, tracks, cables, panels, rollers. That's the job, and we'd rather tell you upfront what it isn't. We don't frame new openings or pour concrete, so if you're building an addition and need a garage shell from scratch, you'll want a contractor for that first and call us once the opening exists. We don't fabricate custom doors to order, either - we work with what's available through standard suppliers, and if you're after something unusual, expect a longer wait on parts than you'd like.

We also won't tell you a door needs replacing when a spring swap or a bent track pull would do the job just as well, and we won't talk you into a repair when the door's old enough, or damaged enough, that replacement is the cheaper call over the next few years. Given that most houses in this area went up between 1956 and 2002 with a lot of that stock from the 1960s and 70s, we see plenty of doors and openers that are original to the house - some of those are worth saving, some aren't, and we'll say which is which instead of guessing on the side that makes us money.

This region sits in a cold-severe climate band, which matters more for garage doors than people expect - a spring or seal that's fine in a milder winter gives out early here, and that's true whether the house is in Cottage Grove proper or out toward Vermillion.
